Aus der Mongolei erreicht uns nicht alle Tage ein Film, umso schöner, wenn er so überzeugend daherkommt. Im Erstling der Filmemacherin Lkhagvadulam Purev-Ochir sieht sich ein junger Schamane mit aufkommenden Selbstzweifeln konfrontiert. An der Schwelle zum Erwachsensein versucht er in der mongolischen Hauptstadt Ulaanbaatar seine spirituelle Verantwortung und den Alltag als Schüler in Balance zu halten. Das ist eine feinfühlige Coming-of-Age-Geschichte im Kontext einer Gesellschaft, die überwiegend städtisch geprägt ist und gleichzeitig Traditionen eines nomadischen Lebensstils pflegt.
