In den bolivianischen Anden lebt ein älteres Quechuapaar. Virginio erkrankt und verbringt die letzten Tage im Wissen um seinen bevorstehenden Tod damit, seine Krankheit vor Sisa zu verbergen. Ihr Leben ist eng verbunden mit der Natur. Diese ist auf dem Altiplano himmelsnah und von betörender Schönheit, gleichzeitig auch karg. Zusammen mit seiner Kamerafrau Barbara Alvarez zaubert der Bolivianer Alejandro Loayza Grisi eine Erzählung auf die Leinwand, die vom Verlust eines Lebensraums handelt und von einem Leben, das auch so schon entbehrungsreich ist.
