Kuessipan
Eine Liebeserklärung an Québecs Innu-Community: In ihrer Adaption des gleichnamigen Romans von Naomi Fontaine erzählt Myriam Verreault auf humorvolle und berührende Weise vom Erwachsenwerden zwischen Tradition und Moderne. Mikuan und Shaniss wachsen zusammen in einer Innu-Gemeinde in Québec auf. Die beiden Frauen sind seit ihrer Kindheit beste Freundinnen und haben geschworen, immer füreinander da zu sein. Doch mit der Pubertät kommen die Probleme und eine erste Liebe. Mikuan möchte sich von den Fesseln ihrer Herkunft befreien und träumt von einem Leben ausserhalb des Reservats - von Bildung und ihrem Freund. Ein Riss geht durch die Freundschaft und durch die Beziehung Mikuans zu ihrer Familie.
