Cocó ist acht Jahre alt und möchte nicht mehr mit dem Geburtsnamen Aitor angesprochen werden. Aber im Sommerurlaub bei der Familie im Baskenland wird ihr Wunsch von fast allen ignoriert, insbesondere von der traditionellen Grossmutter. Ihre Mutter Ane versucht trotz eigenen Herausforderungen für ihr Kind da zu sein, aber nur bei der Grosstante, die als Bienenzüchterin unbeirrbar ihren Weg geht, stösst Cocó wirklich auf Verständnis. So findet sie das nötige Selbstvertrauen, um für ihre eigene Identität und deren Akzeptanz einzustehen.
